| "Georgia" is our first Old English Sheepdog and our first Show Dog. It has been an interesting journey and we have had many learning curves. Since the beginning Georgia has been recognised by many specialty judges & placed first in her class. We started with some best baby puppy in group and show, and she also has been awarded best puppy, best junior and best intermediate in show. Georgia was Runner up in Group at Longford Show inOctober 2008 under breed specialist Dr Robert Zammit. Comments from the specialty judges are consistent, her movement is outstanding and she has a great front and rear angulation. At the Old English Sheepdog 16th National Championship Show Georgia was awarded Reserve Challenge and Australian Bred in Show by Mr Davor Javor of Reata OES, Croatia. Mr Javor is one of the most successful OES breeders and has bred top OES in many countries, including USA and UK champions. We were thrilled to receive these awards in competition against multi BIS winners and previous National and NZ winners. It has been challenging and at the same time very rewarding, slowly but surely as some people keep on reminding us. Now that she is looking the part, we are looking forward to start her competitive career. We have been so lucky to receive the constant support of our good friends and mentors Barrie and Jean Macdonald, Heather Collet and Wendi McKay here in Tasmania, as well as the support of Denise Humphries in Victoria |
